I know everyone does this, but could selling shares of oneself in a tournament violate laws regarding sale of unregistered securities in the US?

Greg Raynmer sold shares and he is/used to be a lawyer, so I guess it's legal.

Unless MS is screwing around in this thread, I'd assume he did get something back in return for not squeaking about dutch any more. I guess MS wants to make sure he has a best chance of getting the rest

Or he might have decided to never discuss again. I know the Grand in Tunica stiffed me for $2100 and I can feel my blood pressure rise everytime I think about it; sometimes it is just better to let these things go.

You knew it? let's not forget the fact that I'm the one that brought the first real evidence of this and not just speculation.

abbbsolutely. however, they all had us doubting it though, admit it.

Yea, you're right, but as I said at the time, i'd never put my money there just on that possibility alone.

Anyway, where's Synnergistic Explosions at? Wasn't that his favorite sight? Oh wait, doesn't the Klan meet tonight?

GrannyMae as I know you're a legend here I respect you, but regarding ZeroRake you're wrong.

The site has now totally flopped and shut down but not once did Dutch speak about owning it. If I’m wrong please provide the links. Why does no one see the logic here?

Dutch doesn’t have a lot of money according to his blog and recent auctions. The guy could not afford to own a stake in ZeroRake. If he did own it, do you not think he would have plugged the crap out of it whenever on TV. RakeFree.com is his and unfortunately for ZeroRake they shared the same idea.

Dutch had the idea and ZeroRake tried to get to market first and did, only to fail.

The site is dead, don't kick dirt on it's grave by linking it to Dutch.

on RGP thought this was interesting............

Bret Jungblutt's auction:
http://tinyurl.com/4tem4

poster to Jungblut: "Anyone know the story behind them not being friends any longer? Gank,
if you read this would you care to comment?"

Gank's response:

"I Would love to comment, thanks for asking!

Dutch Boyd, when I first really met him in 2003, came across as a smart,
young, driven kid, who had fell in love with the game of poker. After we
moved in together, we began working on a project called RakeFree. It was
going to be a cardroom online that charged a monthly fee as opposed to
raking each and every virtual pot. Dutch and I planned on going on tour
and promoting RakeFree. RakeFree was the reason I was willing to be the
best player on a crew with 2 poker rookies (rob boyd and David Smythe) a
poker dealer ( Joe Bartholdi) and Dutch. We started to work on ideas and
concepts for RakeFree, with me sharing intellectual opinion and property.
When it was time to move forward with the project, Dutch began flying
around, meeting with business people to develop the idea. He would come
back and say that he ran into dead ends, but as it turned out, he was
developing the same idea, just under a different name, www.ZeroRake.com
. I have found out, that Dutch owns/owned 20-30% of ZeroRake. When I
found that out, I had never felt so sick in my life. I had been deceived
for so long. I have since not talked to Dutch, but I wanted people to
know that I do not support the kid in anything he does and do not want
other people to get hurt or mistreated like I did. "

When Dutch was on TV Gank was still part of the crew, therefore simple deduction would indicate that whatever happened occured after the WSOP. It's hard for me to believe that Gank would just make such an extavagant story yet keep it under 300 words. I would think that if it was complete fantasy that Brett would have used at least three times as many words as liars have a hard time condensing their stories to pith.

We should know for sure in a couple of weeks because if Brett is purely making this up if Dutch sues him for liable. He'd sue him because it would be an open and shut case. All he would have to do is prove that it was in fact Brett Jungblut who posted that accusation and get zerorake to release their finacial records to show that Dutch had no stake in them. If this is false and Dutch does not sue, then I don't believe he's a lawyer. Anyone with a JD has to realize that something like this will destroy his reputation (goodwill is a better word) and result in him having a very hard time getting people to invest in any project in which he would be involved in the future.
