Did I Overplay This Hand?
This was a hand I had last night in a MTT home game.
Just consolidated to final table, 9 players left. Top 3 pay out. Blinds 10/20 Chip counts as best I can remember UTG: 375 UTG+1: 125 MP: 225 MP+1: 300 MP+2: 650 CO: 675 Button: 700 SB: 400 BB (hero): 725 Preflop: UTG: fold UTG+1: fold MP: call MP+1: fold MP+2: call MP+3: call CO: fold Button: call SB: call BB (hero): 4 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] check flop: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]10 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Checks around the whole table turn: 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] BB (hero): bet 30 all fold to SB who re-raises 100 on top. I have only played against this guy a few times, he is not very experienced, but seems to play conservative post flop. Having the nuts I figured he had either of the flush draws or a set. I pondered for a while and figured with such a strong re-raise he would go all-in. I threw a little acting in and moved all in. He thought for a long time then folded. Was this move too bold? Should I have flat called and hoped to get him in on a favorable river? I ended up doubling the guy up when he moved all-in on my sizeable raise preflop when I held QQ and he had an A10o catching a A on the river of course. Then got busted out with my AQ against AK shorty after finishing one out.....again. Thanks guys [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] |

Re: Did I Overplay This Hand?
A probe bet and a reraise of a raise by a conservative player is going to be interpreted as the nuts or very close to it.
Villain's most likely holding is a flush draw, if you want him to call you have to make the pot right. Hero raises to T250; villain gets ~4:1 implied odds to see the river with 9 outs to the flush draw. |
