Bill Maher put it very well on HBO the other night:

[/ QUOTE ]

I think that Bush is about average as a President. He has done some things well, and he has screwed up some things royally. I'm starting to lean towards maybe a little below average.

That said, I think that Bush does a better job as President than Bill Maher does as either a comedian or a political commentator.

Maher is not funny except to the rabid anti-Bush choir he preaches to. Anyone could get a laugh with that crowd with any kind of cheap shot.

Maher has zero political insight. He claims to be politicall incorrect, but his whole act consists of spouting the standard Hollywood ultraliberal party line without thought. (He does have good writers, so he comes off as more articulate than blatherers like Streisand and Baldwin.) I don't always agree with the politics of people like Rush Limbaugh or Pat Buchanan, but they have an impressive grasp of politics and history, and can give you a genuine different look at issues. Maher isn't even a light-weight in comparison.

Maher is crude and offensive, and goes for cheap laughs through shock value. I stopped watching him when he made lewd references to prepubescent fantasies about women teachers seducing school boys, implying that was OK, but men seducing girls was bad stuff.

What on earth has he done right?

If ChristinaB says it, it has approximately NOTHING to do with reality. Just a heads-up.

Congratulations on developing the ability to post an ad hominem attack without using the word "douchebag". I guess there's hope for us all.

P.S. I myself am pro-choice... but is there really anything wrong with politicians not wanting to penalize unborns because their parents were to stupid to use a condom?

[/ QUOTE ]

Ah, but there's the catch 22. If they HAD used the condom, the unborn wouldn't be there. So really, abortion is just like using a condom after the fact.

/yes I'm just trolling.
