SNGs are prone to good/ugly streaks. It only takes one river card to change a 9th place finish into a money finish.

FWIW, I've checked many SNG hands at stars and I'm reasonably sure they are dealing honest cards.

well....if YOUR hands look normal then that's a big enough sample for me to decide that they are honest.

thanks for chiming in.

fwiw - I haven't been able to win a freaking all-in on Stars to save my life for the past few weeks.
AA is getting to be an automatic loser for me there.
no biggie.
it's called 'variance'. And I have come to accept it.
Evidently, not everyone is as enlightened as I am.

It amazes me how many people still think like this.

The majority of poker players think like this. Its why a minority of us can make money off of them.

i dont say rigged, but its a sign for me. Perhaps i miss my black background.

No you never said it was rigged, although that is not clear in your post. Your post actually speaks to a very important principle that most players don't pay enough attention to.

State of mind.

If you feel you are running bad, you shouldn't play. In your case, you feel you will run bad at stars forever, so although you probably realize that this is not true, the fact that you "feel" that way means you shouldn't play there.

I try to discipline myself to never play when I am feeling negative for whatever reason. I still do once in a while but I definitely have my worst results when I play when I know I am not in a good mental frame of mind. It's a little easier for me to stick to this since poker is my part-time job, not full-time.

So, if you "feel" you are unlucky at Stars, it doesn't matter that there is no sound basis for this feeling. This negative "stigma" that you have attached to playing at Stars will definitely cause you to make bad decisions that will cost you money there.

Hopefully you feel more comfortable playing at Party.

"well....if YOUR hands look normal then that's a big enough sample for me to decide that they are honest."

If my hands had looked normal I wouldn't have done any research. They looked very odd. But I haven't played much SNG poker lately so that's likely what I was noticing, the unbelievable ability of dominated hands to screw ME over.

There were just a ton of very dramatic hands, AK vs AJ rag flod, t=J, r=K. Backdoor str8s all over. But I tested every HU matchup for pre-flop expectation vs actual, flop EV vs actual and turn EV vs actual. All ended up about right. If they are buggering the deal I can't design an experiment to find it.
