I made a female account because I had observed guys playing differently against girls. Watch your tables closely over a decent block of time and you'll notice some differences.

In my experience, villains react in a few different ways:

Some play more aggressively thinking that they can push me off a hand as if I'm a scared girl and they type things in the chat box like "you can't bluff me bitch go back to cooking" and say things implying that girls don't belong at the tables.

Others are very friendly and check behind on the river when they should be betting, etc. Some seem to think my character is blessed with lady luck. I type very little in the chatbox, but when I do it's to maintain this friendly environment.

I *am* female, and fairly often people will just assume that all female accounts are just guys pretending to be female. So, I don't know if it helps me all that much, I really don't enjoy the icky comments I get from men sometimes. It is also funny how sometimes men will get so angry with me when I beat them, this happens particularly in sitngos.

Being female is definately a big asset live, especially against unfamiliar opponents, I really feel like I get an edge when my opps mistakenly assume that I am a rock. Although changing the gender of your meatspace icon is a much more involved process.

I am a female (with a female icon) and it DOES make a difference both on the internet and in B & M's. Male players rarely think I could be holding the best hand, so most of the time I am able to win very large pots. That is until the boys start noticing the mountain of chips in front of me. It is true, that the males feel sorry for me if I take a really bad beat, I had one whole table of guys apologize for a player knocking me out of a tournament with a runner, runner miracle draw, against my pocket K's. There are numerous strategy adjustments that I have needed to make as a female player.

Do you have any choice over what your icon is. I thought it was just a default icon from party and party skins.
