BEST:

1. Game 6 '86 World Series.

2. Rangers win cup for first time in 54 years.

3. Giants' 2nd super bowl, 20-19 over Bills/tied with late Roger Craig fumble and Matt Bahr last-second FG to beat SF in SF 15-13 in NFC Championship to get to that game.

4. '84 Mets run for pennant out of nowhere after 11 consecutive years of awful baseball.

5. Giants 41-0 over Vikes in NFC Championship.

WORST

1. Giants blow huge lead against 49ers in playoffs and lose on that ridiculous FG attempt at end.

2. Giants blow 9-point lead in last 4 minutes against Vikes in first round of playoffs.

3. Game 1 of 2000 World Series -- Dickhead Benitez blows game in 9th and Timo Perez can't run the bases; leading to Yankees celebrating at Shea.

4. Dickhead Benitez blowing two critical games down stretch to Atlanta in 2001 when Mets were poised for one of the greatest comebacks in baseball history, all against the backdrop of 9/11.

5. Ken Morrow scores goal in OT (might have been double OT) for Islanders to beat Rangers in game 5 of first round of playoffs in '84 (best of 5 tied 2-2; I think it was '84), after Rangers tied game on Don Maloney goal in final minute of regulation and Mikko Leinnonen fanned on a point blank shot in OT with a huge chunk of net open.

This past April when the Tar Heels won the National Championship. I've been a diehard fan for quite some time, even through the Guthridge/Doherty era, and it was very satisfying to see them back on top.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sorry, can't let this one go. It must have been so painful making a Final Four under Guthridge (albeit as an 8 seed) and being ranked #1 for a time with Doherty. Hell, UNC's won three national championships in my lifetime and one as recently as 1993. Are you like 16 years old? You have no idea what true suffering is like. This is almost as bad as Duke fans complaining about the Pete Gaudet season.

As a self-proclaimed Browns/Indians fan, I would have thought you would have more perspective.

I've heard OSU has a basketball team as well that could probably use the same support you guys give the football team. Just a thought.

I'll be sending you your invitation to the WAL*MART Tar Heel fan club...

I remember that game in S.F.
One of the worst football hits ever, when Leonard Marshall blind-sided Joe Montana

Montana said it was the worst hit he ever took, it was his last play with the 49ers and he returned back to football two years later.

Jim Burt also knocked him out at the Meadowlands in the 1986 playoffs.
