Default A8s river decision

No read on villain as he just posted, although he's posting in MP2, so let's go ahead and assume he sucks. MP1 sucks, CO sucks, Hero sucks, it's one big suck-fest.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. MP2 posts a blind of $3.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, MP1 calls, MP2 (poster) calls, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, CO calls, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>.

Flop: (9.33 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 raises</font>, MP2 calls, CO calls, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO calls.

Turn: (10.66 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP1 calls, MP2 calls, CO folds.

River: (13.66 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, MP1 calls, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises</font>, <font color="black"> sucky hero... </font>

3-bizzle. if he really had a set to begin with you'd hear more on the flop or the turn.

I would call. It seems logical that MP2 could have a boat here. He flopped a set and waited until the turn to raise. Then the 3rd suited card hit and he got scared of the possible flush. Now he filled up and is raising. Also, by calling we might get MP1 to call another bet and that would net us the same as if we decided to 3-bet and MP2 just called (assuming that MP1 folds to the 3-bet).

while i disagree about the set thing, i do agree on the getting mp1 to overcall getting you the same amount of money thing in case i'm wrong about the set thing. so calling seems good too. i suck at poker.

So do I. I 3-bet it, and right after I hit the 3-bet, i thought it was wrong. I win the same number of bets assuming he has a lower flush or trip sixes with the overcall and assuming he doesn't cap the river. I lose two extra bets when he caps with the boat. He capped with his 36o. I was on partial tilt for the first time in a long time and I think i messed this one up pretty bad.
