Is profitability graph bimodal at 6 max for some hands??

I have certain hands on the button that I will openraise with if no one has entered the pot, and limp with if 3 others are in, but will fold if its one limp to me.. is this proper strategy??

Hands like J8s... I figured stealing the blinds make it profitable enough to steal, and implieds give it enough with position to limp behind, but only playing a 3 way pot or so doesnt yield enough odds to warrant playing it.

Does anyone else think this or am I insane?
