Default Oneida (Green Bay) Poker Room trip report

I was in Green Bay for a family trip to the Tundra Lodge water park (nice water park, crappy hotel rooms for the price.)

Anyways, I was able to get away from the wife and kids for about 2-3 hours to play some poker at the Mason Street poker room. Here's my review.

GOOD:
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] really bad players. I mean retardedly bad. In the two hours I was there at a 3-6 table, I saw exactly 2 preflop raises from somebody other than myself. Once with KK and once with 44(?).
There was consistently 7+ players to the flop. 5 was a minimum, 9 was common.
One old dude bought in for $10 or $20 at a time, even though the minimum buyin was $30. Everyone seemed to know who he was, so I guess they let it slide.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Short wait. I got there at about 9:30 on a Saturday night. I waited less than 15 minutes.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Computerized wait list. Pretty sweet.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Casino-wide paging system. Easily heard over the din of the slot machines anywhere in the casino.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Nice tables. Every table has a shuffle machine. There's a wood rail around the edge of the table, with a cup holder built in at each seat. I didn't feel squeezed into my seat.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] A staffer showed me to my seat when my name got called. I thought that was a nice touch.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Limits spread were 3-6, 4-8, and maybe one table of 10-20? There were 1-2 NL games, and a 2-5 NL game going too.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] The room is nicely partitioned off from the rest of the casino. Railbirds can still watch if they want though.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 4 big screen TVs. I was able to watch an NBA playoff game while I played.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Booze available at the tables. That can't be bad.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Dealers all seemed to know what they were doing. Quick, and no problems I saw.

Bad:
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Boring people. I couldn't believe how quiet the room was. Very little table talk at my table, and it didn't seem like any other tables were having a good time either. Too many old farts slowly spending there SocSecurity checks, I guess.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Rake was 10% with a max of $5. $1 higher than anywhere I've seen.
[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] It's not in the main casino, so nothing except slots outside of the poker room.

Overall:
I was only able to stay for 2 1/2 hours, but I'd definitely like to go back. Really soft games, nice place, short waits.

They also run a NL tourney on Wednesday and Thursday nights that I'd like to get to sometime.
$50+10 gets you T1500. Another $5 tip for the dealers gets you T300 more. $20 rebuys if you're under T1500 gets you T500 more.
