Overcards and backdoor nut draws on ragged flop
Not real sure if I played this correctly.
BB calls too much, but is better than your average nanolimit player. Paradise Poker 0.10/0.20 Hold'em (10 handed) converter Preflop: Hero is CO with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, 4 folds, Hero raises, 2 folds, BB calls, UTG+1 calls. Flop: (6.50 SB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (3 players) BB checks, UTG+1 checks, Hero bets, BB calls, UTG+1 folds. Turn: (4.25 BB) J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (2 players) BB checks, Hero bets, BB calls. I think there is a chance that I can win the pot immediately if I bet here. If raised, I'll fold. River: (6.25 BB) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets, Hero calls. I'm probably toast. But I'm not going to be a river weenie and fold here. Final Pot: 8.25 BB |

Re: Overcards and backdoor nut draws on ragged flop
I'd fold the river to a bet in a pot of this size.
7.25-to-1 is not really that big. If it were 8.5-to-1, I may consider calling it down heads up (very dependent on your opponent read). |

BB calls too much, [/ QUOTE ] If you know the turn bet isn't going to fold him consider checking through for a free card. |

Final Pot: 8.25 BB Results: BB has 6s 5h (full house, sixes full of jacks). Hero has Ad Ks (two pair, jacks and sixes). Outcome: BB wins 8.25 BB. Slowplayed me. You're right, I probably should have folded on the river. |

[ QUOTE ] BB calls too much, [/ QUOTE ] If you know the turn bet isn't going to fold him consider checking through for a free card. [/ QUOTE ] You have it reversed. The fact that BB calls too much makes the chances that your hand is the best hand on the turn. Bet and take the free showdown on river. Like others said as well, fold that river. |
