Default A question on rules

A basic rules question I'm afraid...not SURE that this is the right place, but its a general query so here goes.

3 players in a hand. Player 1 has $1000 and goes all-in. Player 2 has $2000 and goes all-in over the top. Player 3 then calls the full amount of $2000.

Player 1 wins the hand and obviously wins his £3000 main pot. Do players 2 and 3 then take their bets back as neither of them won the hand OR does the best hand between them two take the remaining side pot?

Thanks for your time.

A side pot of 2000 would be contested between player 2 and player 3. Whoever, of those 2 players, had the better hand receives the 2000 side pot.

The best hand between players 2 and 3 wins the $2000 side pot.

This requires way to much conversion for my attention span. Keep it all in one currency, then give the side pot to the best hand between 2 and 3.
