I have a lot of money sitting in my checking account. I don't plan on putting it into stocks. I don't need it for 2+ years. What should I do?

[/ QUOTE ]

If you don't wqant to put it into stocks you might want to put them in 3-6 month Treasury Bills and roll them over every 3-6 months.

Interest rates are most likely going higher and there is very little premium for tying your money up longer. Plus if your state has state abd loca taxes your interest income will be exempt from those taxes making the likely yield much better than you will get in any savings or money market fund.
You can buy direct from the Treasury at www.treasurydirect.gov I believe.

yeah, i assume that poker sites put your money into an account where they are making booty loads of money off interest, so i would suggest doing that.

Withdraw it as cash, all in dimes. Use the coins (using a glue for which you have a solvent) to build a scale model of the Notre Dame Catedral in your back yard; charge admission for viewings and sell themed gift shop items (T-shirts, etc.) In two years dismantle the model (using that solvent) -- but not before promoting "Last chance to see the Catehdral!!!!" -- and redeposit the dimes, plus your profits.

Should easily generate higher return than Treasuries, CDs, etc.
