Harrahs East Chicago or Trump Casino? (indiana)
Which would be the better place to play limit hold em (3/6)?
Harrahs East Chicago or Trump Casino? It will be my first trip to play at a B&M, heading there next tuesday afternoon. Any advice or anything I should know about either of these casinos? Do I need to call ahead (will get there around 11 am) ect........ sorry that this is kinda a repost - my last topic title was way off. (I said bluechip, which doesnt have a pokerroom) |

thanks for the info. since i usually only play .5/1 and 1/2 online, i am going to keep my first B&M experience as low as possible. Is Harrahs lowest 5/10?
thanks |

Is Harrahs lowest 5/10? [/ QUOTE ] yes. Trump: 3/6 (full kill), (changes to 4/8 on Sat/Sun) 6/12 (full kill), 10/20 (half kill) NL 2/5 200-max, NL 5/10 400-min Harrah's: 5/10 (no kill) 10/20, 20/40, 30/60(?) NL(?) Both rooms have some stud games also. Harrah's has a PL Omaha game running at most times. -Ash |

what is the difference between full and half kill?
full kill is when the blinds double (and bets) after someone wins two straight hands and they are required to post the big blind - correct? not sure what the half kill is? |

Re: Only Trump has 3/6 (and only on weekdays) n/m
In a full kill the blinds stay the same, but the lucky person who won the previous two pots posts an amount equal to double the big blind. e.g. $6 in a $3-$6 game. It is now $6 to call and plays $6-$12.
A half kill would be a $4-$8 game going to $6-$12 when a full kill would be to $8-$16. |

The Trump 6/12 is more of a 2/3rds kill. The one time I played it (a few months ago), it killed to 10/20, not 12/24. It's possible it has changed.

Also, weekend 4-8 game disbanded based on negative feedback, so back to 3-6. My brief review: I think the Trump dealers are fine (seen only a few mistakes, and only one incorrectly pushed pot that I can remember). Drink service ranges from terrible to great, depending on the night (no free liquor or I'd be there every weekend). Comp is so-so at $.50/hr (might go up at the bigger games, don't know) but the choice of food is pretty crappy, esp. if you're vegetarian like me. Yes the chips are dirtier than a monkey's butt, my record is sticking together 11 and lifting by the top one. I hate it, you always look nervous when betting 'cause you're fumbling with the chips. The best part about the Trump: Fish Fry!! 6-12 I could beat in my sleep, in fact the best 6-12 table I ever sat at they said most of the players had moved *down* because 10-20 broke up. In fact I'll probably start playing 10-20 soon. Don't know anything about NL but they do seem to run pretty regularly. |
