Default The Importance of Aggression

There has been a lot of discussion lately about the effectiveness of hyper aggression at the low limits. I, personally, am one who believes that players who don't use hyper aggression at the microlimits are causing their winrates to unecessarily suffer. The following hand is what I believe to be a perfect example of why. I think it shows how important fold equity can be, the value of a river bluff, and the fact that many players at these low levels simply don't pay attention to the size of the pot.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
Hero raises, 2 folds, MP2 3-bets, 2 folds, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls, Hero caps, MP2 calls, Button calls, SB calls, BB calls.

Flop: (20 SB) J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, MP2 raises, Button calls, SB folds, BB calls, Hero calls.

Turn: (14 BB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, MP2 folds, Button calls, BB calls.

River: (17 BB) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (3 players)
BB checks, Hero bets, Button folds, BB folds.

Final Pot: 18 BB

I had one of these the other day. Typed it out from FT, no longer have the HH, but this is what happened.

Full Tilt 2/4

You have been dealt [Ks Ah]
Fold, UTG+1 Calls, Hero raises, 3 folds, Button calls, SB 3-bets, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero caps, Button folds, SB calls, UTG+1 Calls.

The flop is [8c 3h 4s] (15 SB)

SB bets, UTG+1 folds, Hero raises, SB folds.

(17 BB)

Yeah, exactly. I don't get it.

I've always been in the camp of selective aggression. So are you promoting hyper aggression? I'm not sure what kind of reads you got on these opponents so perhaps it was a sound play. Hell, why not 3-bet it on the flop and call the cap?

I would think that if you kept on doing this, you'd get your hands caught in the cookie jar enough so that your opponents would figure it out. Eventually, someone is going to call you down and figure it out.

I'll elaborate by saying I believe you're being results-oriented. Why are you betting every street with ace-high into a multiway field?

EDIT: This forum is incredibly aggressive, but even this is just spewage.

Eventually I probably will get caught with my hand in the cookie jar, but I only have to not get caught 6% of the time for this to pay off. Do you guys really think this is wrong? It will be impossible to persuade me that it is, but I'm interested.

I'm betting the flop because I have 2 overcards and am trying to cut down the field. I'm betting the turn because I have the nut flush draw. I'm betting the river because I'm the only play left who has shown any aggression and I believe that I will get the other two to fold 6% of the time or more.
