1 limper: Drawing hand 6 max, decisions
An exercise in theory? I cant work it out on my own
0.50/1 Hold'em (6 handed) Preflop: Hero is CO with 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] / 8:club, 9:club. UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, Hero ?? Reads (made up scenario so these are 100%): UTG = Loose passive. Both blinds = Average players for this level. Wont raise from blinds without AA or KK. If you raise ~1.5 of these players will call regardless of the buttons action. Here is the question. First, against a perfectly average button, what is our play here? Then: If button is MORE tight and MORE passive (pre and post flop), we become MORE likely to ______? If button is MORE tight and MORE aggressive (pre and post flop), we become MORE likely to ______? If button is MORE loose and MORE passive (pre and post flop), we become MORE likely to ______? If button is MORE loose and MORE aggressive (pre and post flop), we become MORE likely to ______? Note: Everything here is relative, so please dont simply say you would fold this against anyone. What im trying to get at, is for buttons which deviate from the average player in a particular way, what are we more likely to do short handed with a good drawing hand and 1 limper in the pot. For example, lets say (for example) against the average player we should be raising 70% of the time, calling 20% and folding 10%. against a button who is more loose and more passive than the average player, does our raising percentage increase? for example to a situation where we are raising 80%, calling 14% and folding 6%? |

Re: 1 limper: Drawing hand 6 max, decisions
Perfectly average is going to vary drastically from limit to limit.
If the button/blinds are tight I'd usually raise this. If the button is loose/aggressive I'd consider folding but probably limp occasionally depending on how aggressive - if I think there's a 50% chance he raises preflop, folding seems prudent. If I can buy the button with a raise and the players are fit/fold postflop I'll almost always raise. If the game is reasonably passive I'll just go ahead and limp. |
