Default rakeback discussions banned?

Feel free to delete this post, but i dont understand why rakeback discussions are not allowed on these boards? Excuse my ignorance but it would seem that a discussion on the more reliable rakeback sites would be beneficial.

The part that makes no sense is that if you just look to your right you will see ads for rakeback. if this site can't be apart of discussions regarding rakeback, why can they allow them to advertise?

if this has been asked and answered let me know, but i did a search and couldnt come up with much of a reason. If the reason is that people will just spam everyone then maybe the bosses here could add an extra forum for rakeback/bonuswhoring discussions.

Because many of the rakeback affiliates are 2+2 posters, so there is an obvious conflict of interest.

I agree with the spam issue and the conflict of interest issue, but I wish there could be a way to have rakeback reviews. I've had very good experiences w/ one affiliate and pretty crappy with another. I would like to vent and I think it would be useful for people to have objective reviews. I know it would open the spam floodgates though to try this. Maybe a forum where that is all one does?

My 2 cents.

that was my point. Rakebackreview does a good job, but there are tons of options and i dont think its that clear which one is better than the other, outside of the percentages offered and some tools the site may have. I havent read too much about the credibility of each site or if any of them have been more reliable than others in terms of payouts etc..

that type of info could only be shared amongst users, and we seem to have a bunch of users here. If 20 respected posters said they used site X and loved it, then people may be more inclined to use that site. If some people came forward with bad stories about site Y, some of us would be on alert as to possible problems.

Like everything on the internet you never know who is full of it or not. Maybe someone will complain about a rakeback site because they are the competition. But we, the users, should be the ones deciphering what is what.

Something is better than nothing.

This has come up before and the explanation was something like:
1) It encourages spam. If these discussions were allowed, it is easy for an affiliate to create account(s) to come into everyone of these discussions and talk about how great and reliable the affiliate is. You could even use two accounts and have one start a thread about "Who is the best rakeback affiliate" and have the other respond to say "Affiliate X is the best".

2) The site wants rakeback affiliates to have to buy classified ads and banner ads in order for people to hear about their services.

I think rakeback review is probably sponsored by the affiliates or accepts payment from them. The discussion boards are mostly the affiliates themselves posting. I don't know how bobbyi's problems could be surmounted but having 2+2ers who you've read post from on many topics other than rakeback giving their opinion on sites would be very helpful.

yea.. I still don't really understand why they don't let us discuss rakeback stuff here on 2+2. It'd be nice to have a seperate forum just for that so it doesn't clog up the internet forum.

spam is a problem on alot of message boards that have to do with gambling. But the posters here respect a handful of fellow posters. If person x has 5 posts and starts touting, most people will discredit him. but if a veteran poster gives his feelings about a specific site we would all be better for it.

Classified ads and banners would still work and the top notch advertisers will see a boost in revenue. I am sitting here trying to decide which rakeback to use and i dont have a clue how to decide which one is more reputable.

i am a member at a few sports gambling sites and they all have sportsbook advertisers, but the members of the forums are free to give recomendations and critiques of all sportsbooks. By now the top 5 or so are pretty clear based on hundreds of posts (some are advertisers and some arent advertisers). Without them people would still be using corrupt sportsbooks. a site as good as this one should be equally informative to its members.
