Default 30/60 3-betting my gutshot

UTG and MP1 are solid TAGs. BB is a loose calling station.
How's the flop 3-bet? River = easy fold?

****

Party Poker 30/60 Hold'em (7 handed)

Preflop: Hero is MP2 with 6[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $30.
<font color="#CC3333">UTG raises</font>, MP1 calls, Hero (poster) calls, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, BB calls.

Flop: (8.50 SB) 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(4 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">UTG bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP1 raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero 3-bets</font>, BB calls, UTG folds, MP1 calls.

Turn: (9.25 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>

That far off, hunh?

Preflop has to be fine. I doubted any raises behind.

I'm thinking the 3bet may win it for me with a bet (given no high cards) on the turn if early TAGs are both playing overs. Or at least get me HU w/BB who I'm probably ahead against anyway. It also should eliminate the UTG Tag and give me a better chance at being good if I hit trips or 2 pr.

If overcard comes on Turn I may still get the free card.

Since he bets into the Turn, he has to have the overpair, and it's an easy call, fold without improving.

Uh.. no? As far as EV in a vacuum, posting from MP is little different from waiting for the blinds to come around. It's -EV to have the table see you sit out a whole orbit to save 1 SB.
What's -EV in This hand is 3-betting the flop with a pair of 5's and a gutshot..

Thanks for really contributing to the existing abundance of substantive advice. I really feel like I'm learning here.

I get that my play was wrong. I don't get that my sincere justification of my play gets no meaningful response.

Don't worry about it - that's what he does. He simultaneously posted that exact line in 3 different threads..

Thic call would be close even if everyone behind you had already thrown their cards in the muck and you were closing the action. Any reason other than because it lets you play that you don't think the players behind you will raise?
