Why would you even consider betting this river into this type of player. Is his current state he could likely raise any ace, lower trips, flush, ect. and you cannot consider calling the raise. Plus he isnt going to fold any hands you dont beat. Therefore, all that betting does is induce a bluff here. The best play is to check/ call and at most u lose one bet but you prevent yourself from folding the winner.

I'm not confident enough that he's calling with a 2 (or other pocket pair) to bet if he checks to me. But, I'm still calling his river bet hoping to pick off a bluff.

Yeah I also like inducing a bluff here, but definitely would not like being called if I bet. I think a check-call is a good line to take here.

Good to see you in the strategy forums again Dynasty.

I bet the river, he called and my hand was good as he mucked in disgust. Interesting thread...overall, I just figured since he'll call with worse hands that he won't bet and won't raise the river w/o the nuts but will bet any flush, the bet has to have a (moderately) better EV than the check. While I said, "giving action," I don't see the guy raising the end w/o the goods. He was loose, but not really aggro.

If he is going to call with hands that you beat but won't bet them and you are going to call anyway if you check I think betting is the play. Especially since you can easily fold to a raise. I vote for bet/fold.

Is the bet on the flop okay here? Perhaps i am weak tight at times, but it seems incorrect to bet mid pair here against several opponents, especially with a 2 flush on board. I hardly ever bet mid pair, unless i am against less than 3 opponents. Is this a problem with my game?
