Default Philosphy Term paper ideas

Well im going on on a pretty desperate limb here…
Been trying to think of worth while term paper topic for my philosophy class but it seems as though my brain has completely gone to mush when it comes to thinking of concrete ideas

the class is of Greek philosophy .. the presocratics and such with a little bit of Thucydides and Aeschylus

been kind of sloshing about ideas of how a collective mind evolves over time not really sure what to do with that though also something along the lines of animalistic primitive passion vs logic pertaining to evolution

perhaps something about the Greek perception of reality compared to present day

but I don’t have any idea how to go about any of it or at least turning any of it into a acceptable thesis

Look at the believed thoughts that make up our concept of society today. What are the emotions that drive us to get plastic surgery, to be infatuated with celebrities, to eat ourselves into obesity. What fears are driving our mentalities. How do these emotions, which are derived from believed thoughts, guide our actions and how is this different than the fears that drove the collective mentality of society when our country was founded, or of what affected the ancient Greek perception. Then you could tie it into what fear actually is (a believed concept, real insofar as one believes it to be true) and how if human civilization as a whole is going to progress, we need to understand what FDR was talking about when he said, "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself." You could investigate the reasons that people have trouble facing their fears which would provide the reasoning as to why people are ignorant about what fear actually is and how it drives their decision-making process and also include steps people could take to break the conditioning that fear imprisons our minds with.
