Re: One year ago today, I...
Umm, not as impressive as most:
2004 - Labored to turn a $50 deposit at Stars into more than $3,500 playing MTTs and SnGs but mostly 6-handed limit -- the crack of online poker. - Was a LAG after skimming SSHE, but didn't know it because I seemed to hit every draw. - Didn't think it was a big deal to win 60bb or more in one session. - Went to bed every night dreaming of of the Aspen condo I would to buy in a few months. 2005 - Lost $1,600 without really knowing it during a 36-hour session playing 5/10 6m. - Became noticeably depressed. Didn't know what to do with my free time. - Failed to rebuild until it was too late, whittled my bankroll to $0.20 the week before the NCAA tournament. - Got a $22 cheating credit from Stars the very next day and worked it up to about $300-$400 playing uber-tight and hitting some SnGs. - Read SSHE again. Laughed at how wrong I was. Started grinding limit, 2-4 tabling and whoring. - Learned to enjoy playing again. - Got bored, started playing $27, then $60, turbos. Got hot, worked roll up to $2,000. - Bought a PSP. - Got cold, lost all but about $400, started to think the Doom Button Theory wasn't all that far fetched. - Built to about $750 in the last two days. - Wondered how the hell people could have 10x the posts I do in 1/3 the time. 2006? - Learn to manage my bankroll. - Read everything again. - Put family and career ahead of poker. |

At what point did you start playing 60s? [/ QUOTE ] Oh, I don't know. I took a few shots around $1,000 and started playing them almost exclusively around $1,300-$1,500. In a very short sample size (I don't know exactly how many I've played. I haven't put the work in to make Stars SnGs work with PT), I would say the $60s are somewhat close to the $27s in difficulty. Funny you ask, until the past five months, I've played SnGs as a break from the limit grind. Since playing them seriously, I realize I have no clue about the required bankroll ... I suppose I should take a look at the FAQ thread. |
