That is as rare as it gets for 4 players to have a set. Usually if there were 4 sets it would be because 1 player made two of them with a 2 pair hand.

And I'm going to comment on your play anyway. Nothing wrong with it since you have not only top set but also the nut flush draw and the only straight draw is a gutshot. You want all the drawing nearly dead or thin money in you can get.

You have to get that allin on the flop/turn given that action. Those straight draws know the odds of making the straight but they always ignore the flush outs. Only thing to fear is a gutshot/dreaded runner runner magic straights for someone.

Damn. They sure dont play like this in the 50s. I think players in the 25s would fold here even. Nice table, nice hand sir.

I don't know if this is more unlikely, but in a limit hold em game I once flopped set over 2 sets with an overpair out there as well. I did nothing but call, until the river, may have left a bet out there (forgot if all were capped), but my sudden lead on the river unfortunately froze them.

Your hand in Hold'em is way, way, way, way more unlikely then the OP in Omaha.

Not that you asked anyone to calculate it but I'll bite.

I'd estimate 6^3 for the three flopped sets or about 200 times less likely. Hard to estimate the relative probability of an overpair in Hold'em vs. a 4th set in Omaha but I doubt it makes more than a 2 times difference up or down. So I'd say your hand is 100 to 400 times less likely. Wow.

Hero did get allin on the turn. But there was no reason on the flop to chase away hands he is beating. The key is that he holds the nut flush draw as well as top set which shaves the outs for someone with a straight draw. The way to maximize this hand is to let all who want in to be in, regardless if an unfortunate straight should come. Long term this is the most +EV way to play this hand.

yeah I should have gotten that in the first place (two-card game versus four-card game) maybe I'll try to compute it later. for your curiosity, here is the original unaltered hand history.
