ME more circus than tournament??
Esp. this year, the ME seems to be a totally different breed of poker tournament.
Look at all the satillite (sic) parlays there were, the Elmo guy, and all the other clowns who showed up. If I were a rich donkey (I am a donkey, just not rich) with 10 large to spare, I'd sure as hell show up! But I wouldn't travel from Anytown USA to play in some Commerce Casino tournament...Probably wouldn't even know the place exists. I just don't see how pros can legitimately expect to do well in the ME, or even prepare for what they will find in the trenches. The ME seems like a sideshow departure from all the rest... Just my thoughts--I still love the ME and its growing attention. It's just different. Haters begin your flaming... |

[/ QUOTE ] Nothing more -EV for the best poker players in the world than a room full of donks. Excellent point. I also think that internet poker rooms are full of clowns too! The players are so bad, they're unbeatable! I can't beat the $.5/1 at Party because it's just one big fish-fest. They should pretty much ban all clowns from the WSOP; allow pros only, and make the entry fee $100,000 so that any clowns who would even THINK about trying to play would be forever deterred - which is, of course, what's best for pros and the poker industry. The big clown-fest that the WSOP has turned into has been TERRIBLE for poker/poker interests/the poker industry. |
