Default Mearsuring your luck

Assuming you are playing pre-flop according to a book like SSH then can your VP$IP be used to test if the hands dealt to you in a session are better than average?

Are there other ways of measuring this?

Is PokerTracker used for this?

Position and previous action are two big factors in a hands 'playability'. If you consider these to be part of your luck, then VPIP is a decent way to see how lucky you are preflop.

You might find pokergrader.com to be interesting. It's not for preflop, but it does estimate luck.

You can define your own "hand category" in pokertracker, such as say "Group 1 hands" or "pairs" and see what fraction of your hands over a time period were in that group.... If thats what you meant.
