Default Midlle Pocket pair to straight

Villain is passive. Played against him early on after he raised w/ QQ in lp and I called w/ KTsooted. Ace and King on flop and he bet, but with hesitation. He beat me on river w/ a Q to beat my trip K's to his full boat. That's my only read.
Did I play this hand wrong? I thought about what he could have on River w/ his re-Raise, but thought no way as he limped in. Suggestions welcome. And, btw, I should have raised him w/ the KT hand and maybe he would have folded. My bad.
Thanks for comments,
Walkdoc

Default I converted the hand for you, and replied

Final Pot: 13.50 BB

You played it fine. If he limped AK UTG, make a note of it, and move on. You have great position on him. Make use of it, and value bet relentlessly. Just don't bluff him.

Is checking behind on the turn weak here?

You would let BB continue to draw with infinite odds. If you are planning to check behind (You know that the villain is passive and won't bet is TP weak kicker or something ilike that) then check behind on the river, UI.

That river plan wouldn't work here, obviously, as it seems both of our hands improved.

walkdoc I would have played this hand identically. The guy played AK UTG and didnt raise. Not much you can do but make a player note of it. K9 beats you too but less likely because you're holding half the 9s

I would have played it the very same too, you're going to see QJ, QT or JT most of the time.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the responses.
Thanks as well Nate Dog for converting the hand. I ran it thru the converter, I guess it didn't take. Sorry for that!
