Default Big Party BB Jackpot. Anyone want to setup a \"special\" table?

I remember last year when the BBJ got huge on Party, there were a bunch of tables with all 2+2'ers playing "smart" bad beat poker. (Wink wink). Anyone want to start a new table since the jackpot is currently over 400k?

The biggest reason why this isn't the best idea is that if this table actually hit, Party could figure out that people were colluding together and only playing for the jackpot.

This was brought up last time. The consensus is that as long as nothing is said in the chat box about strategy, there is no way to prove collusion. Besides, there is no rule against only playing starting hands that have BBJ potential.

ive never been involved in this before and dont want to be now, but what you might want to do is find the old thread(s) where this was done and then PM each of the people who participated in the 2+2 table last time and ask them if theyre interested.

also, type up a set of guidelines for everyone to follow as they play on the table (a list of starting hands, etc) and send that to each participant.

posting this on 2+2, which party obviously reads, is going to cause you so many problems if its hit at a "2+2 table".

do you communication thru PMs using the participants from last time, not on the forum.

hope that makes sense.

I've thought about this to

Basically everyone would just play pocket pairs higher than 8 and suited connectors? (attempting to make quads/straight flushes)?

This would still take forever and be easily detectible I'm afraid.

It also can't be a "new" idea....

Did "the consensus" take into account that a representative of Party reads and posts in this forum?

I've played over 200,000 hands and have never been involved in a hand that would have triggered a Bad Beat Jackpot. What kind of odds are you looking at to actually hit a hand like that?

It's not a new idea.

we did this in January when the JP was at $700k or whatever it was.

It was silly and fun....but wasn't really working.
There were always 1 or 2 players who were NOT checking it down.
There were people always talking in the chat-box about how best to play one's hands (including the players AND the observers who would swing by to laugh and laugh).
there were people who didn't know what the hell they should be doing or how they should be playing.
There were 1 or 2 stragglers who weren't involved in the little 'scheme' at all who kind of screwed things up too.

It was silly and ridiculous...but it wasn't very effective...and you are better off EV-wise just playing 'normal' poker against a bunch of fish on one of the BBJ tables and hoping that it hits there.

We don't know IF party would read the thread here and void the jackpot pay-out if you hit it.
We DO know that there is a CHANCE that this would happen.
Even if you think that the chance of Party doing something like that is as low as 5% then your EV is better MONEY-wise to just play on a regular JP table.

However, the EV you get entertainment-wise by playing so silly with a bunch of other 2+2'ers is pretty high.
