Default I decided to see where I stand for 2005, and I felt like dying

Just to see where I stand with taxes for 2005 (how much I should be putting away, etc) I decided to see how much I've won in tournaments, sngs, and cash games.

I printed off the stats from my PT database, and I looked at the "total rake" column.

I have won $9,761 from ring games so far...and I have paid $10,238 in rake. My god.

Here is Brad crying:

I guess this is to say, I bet a lot of people who lose are a lot closer to beating these games than they think. They don't realize how massive the rake is.

I hate rake more than anything, and I hate the fact that people don't hate rake as much as I do.

I tried to support zero rake as much as I could, and when nobody seemed even remotely excited about it I was very distraught.

Rakefree poker...is such a beautiful thing to imagine. Seriuosly.

The winners would experience extremely mild swings...the moderate losers would become moderate winners to breakeven players, and the giant losers...well, they'd still lose a lot, but they would last a bit longer.

I feel like party poker et al are on the verge of killing the golden goose with the amount of rake they are charging.

You pay a monthly fee to the site or something. Zero rake has been tried before and failed every time.

yes, the cost of rake is INSANE. i pay about $100/hr for rake pre rb.

when low rake sites become the way of the future (hopefully), it will be much easier to beat games for 5BB/100.

Yep, I just noticed I've paid about $1,600 in, like, the last week.

Great googly moogly.

It failed every one time?

I think it was only tried once.

You think that lower rake sites are going to be the way of the future?

What makes you say this?
