Default Stealing Mood: 76s

On the previous hand I was SB and had no choice but to concede when the button bet the flop and apparently stole a tiny pot using his position. I was musing that as a tight player I always seemed to be in the blinds and never good position when I played one of these pots. Maybe I needed to play a few more hands in LP ...

Suddenly this appeared on the screen and I said "Let's do it!" What do you think? Too loose or good? Gotta love the river. Otherwise I would have checked behind--correct?

MP3 is unfamiliar but has already limpfolded. SB is about 40% VP$IP, unbelievably passive, and a chronic slowplayer. Limited data on BB but he seems normal and either typical or passive.

I think the preflop call is bad, I like everything else.

Hi Joe,

I think the preflop call is bad,

Then you prefer a raise?

Peace,
Joe Tall

This isn't really a steal. You're limping pre-flop (not so great), betting middle pair when it's checked to you (good), and betting trips on the river(wonderful).

Hey Joe,

I would probably rather raise than call in the situation, but I would fold first of all. From the tone of your post it sounds like you think a call is fine in this spot. He's got position, but with only one limper + one, maybe two blinds? I personally think that's pushing it. I'm probably wrong.

StellarWind:

I do not make this preflop limp with just 1 limper... I would limp every time with 3+ limpers, and maybe with 2 and loose blinds.

I like the flop bet. I think with that board, there is a very large chance that you take the pot with that bet. K high, pretty uncoordinated with no one having any interest in it.

I would have bet the turn as well, and, like you, I would have checked behind on the river without improvement.

Do you bet this flop if you were in the blinds and had 3 opponents?

I think raising is better than calling.

I like just limping in this spot, especially with no steal equity vs the SB.

I was going to say the exact same thing. I don't think it's a "steal" at all.

Yes, I do. If I had tight blinds and weak limper, I'd raise but I'm not folding on the button here unless one of the blinds was a loose cannon and would likely raise.

Peace,
Joe Tall
