You need to tighten way up and be more selective with agression when you have position.

Sounds like you are treating 6 MAX more like final table 6.

How LARGE of a BUY IN max are you playing?

If it's sub $100, FPS should be avoided, IMHO.

Do a search on short-handed play and take in as much as you can.

Personally, it's a flop game for me.
I can outplay most, after the flop.
Don't forget your continuation bets.

I love a good flame but I don't want to start a war.

Let me explain.

In the grove

Of course I ment "in the groove" - 'Totally hip and groovy, far out', In poker when it all just comes together sweetly.

[ QUOTE ]
What is "loose aggressive land?"

[/ QUOTE ]
The place where I often go after being outdrawn for my whole stack by a two outer.

A Zen master does not need valium

[/ QUOTE ]

They don't need anything, niether do they play 6 max but if they did they might take valium. It is possible.

[ QUOTE ]
Perhaps you should have tried less hard to impress us with what you think is the right way to play six-max, and just ask a few specific questions. Those we can answer.

[/ QUOTE ]

My post was short on specifics and rather terse on the generalities it's true.

Here is something more specific:
Lets say then there is one rather agressive players who raises a lot and always makes a continuation bet. Do you try to outplay him and punish that pattern?

I've settled down in 50 dollar, which I'm confident I can beat. Moving up to 100 soon as my bankroll allows

No. Wait for a hand that you are willing to back with your stack and then you check raise him to hell. If he calls your check raise then bet the pot on the next street or preferable go all-in..
A loose aggressive player is like a tiger.. If he smells weakness he will put you to the test. And you need the goods to take him down unless you are even more brutal. It's a [censored] war out there. And you need to get the son of a bitch before he do you.. Man, you are like a Zen monk.. Patience is your virtue.. But when the time is right you will strike fast and hard!

That's the spirit you should have when you play 6max!

This whole thread is pretty ridiculous. Poker isn't a war; neither is it an eternal struggle against sin or an attempt to perfect oneself. There's no state of nirvana or other religious connotations. It's a game of cards. Just play some cards, and forget about all of this mysticism nonsense. This must have been inspired by that post a few days ago about going with the flow or something, which was basically just an exercise in trying to somehow relate poker to various metaphors.

Perhaps, as soon as you are done not impressing people, you can look up terse. Though dictionary.com is weak, it will probably work. Of course, m-w.com is better, and if a subscription is available, the OED the best.
