Vegas mid-range Eats

I am going to Vegas this week with a couple friends and I wanted to get one decent meal but one of my friends doesn't want to break the bank for a 50 dollar steak.

Can anyone make recommendations of good places with entrees more in the mid-$20 range?

We are staying on the strip and don't have a car. Thanks.

Mon Ami Gabi is a French restuarant in Paris. great Steak Frites (steak and fries) for $20. it's a sirloin steak pounded thin. good steak, great value.

The mexican place in Mandalay bay is goot.

I second Mon Amis Gabi, at Paris - good stuff. I really like the steak frites.

If you want sushi, try Todai at Aladdin. It's buffet style, so that may not thrill.

Red8 at Wynn was tasty Asian food. You won't come away stuffed, but the food is good. And the Wynn buffet is the best, in my opinion.

that also begs the question of where to go for a buffet. One of the guys I'm going with went to the paris brunch buffet and liked it a lot and I guess it was all you can drink champagne on top of all the lox and other good stuff. I also hear good stuff about the bellagio obviously. I have been to the rio and MGM buffets a while ago and was not all that impressed (though MGM did have lobster tails)

I rate them thus:

1) Wynn
2) Paris - champagne only on Sundays, btw
3) Bellagio
4) Cafe Lago - Caesars
5) Aladdin

I was not that thrilled with the Mirage and Bally's sucks ass by comparison to these. Also, Mandalay Bay was hugely disappointing.

I want to try the new Treasure Island buffet, Dishes. Next trip, I guess.

Dishes -- certainly not as good as Aladdin, much better than Luxor or Mandalay.

It's a nice presentation. The pasta to order is nice, the sushi to order is ok, but there's often a longish (by comparison) line. I thought the rest was standard vegas buffet.

If I was in the neighborhood, and didn't want to make the walk to Mirage, I'd go back again.

I would rate it Bellagio, Wynn, then Paris

Just ate at Cafe Lago yesterday and it has definately gone down. For $22, we got NO selection at all and half of the buffet was empty. May of just been a bad time (~ 1:30pm)

That's sad, I liked that place. I really think Wynn wins out for selection, desserts and overall atmosphere. I ate in the atrium, which had actual daylight, so that was nice.

I really don't like the Bellagio desserts. So sad.
