Default do you make this call

I figured that the short stack would go all in here as well, so was it correct to call in this situation given the pot odds
and the wide range of hands that the intitial raiser could make this move with?

What buy-in? What are the payouts? Reads on Button and SB? I most likely fold this when it comes back to me..

I personally could never call a huge raise like that with 33. There are 11 hands that are better than you, and every other hand u are a coin flip against because they'll be 2 overcards.

I would normally fold this pre-flop. I would raise if I thought it would win the hand pre-flop. But calling is generally not a good idea at this blind level because of exactly what happened. Shortstacks like to push and other big stacks like to raise. You can play small pairs early in an MTT because of the implied odds when you hit your set. Later on that normally doesn't apply, especially in EP with several people left to act.

What hands would the button mini-raise almost 1/3 of his already small stack with. No idea what the buy-in is or the quality of the players but you've got to consider being up against a bigger pair. You're getting 3 to 1 odds to call which means you need to have 25% pot equity to make the call correct. I don't believe you have this much equity against two opponents.
