Was it ok to push here to isolate the hand hopefully or do I just call for like half my stack and see a flop? I took the time this time to clean up the hand history that everyone usually doesn't like. Thanks guys |

I had KK twice today in the first round and lost both times and crashed out
Anyway, I will always go all in if given the opportunity preflop (some resistance needed so you dont just get the blinds) and if I lose, so be it. AA is your only fear here and people will not always have it. Have you seen 'rounders'? There is a quote in there about KK which fits here. cant remember it though |

Bad beat post!!!
Just kidding. This is a legit question. Anyway, my rule of thumb is... at the $5 tables, the "K" might as well be an "A." In other words, play KK like AA -- try to get as much money in the pot as possible before the flop. If someone had AA there, well, you bust (only 20% of the time actually) and move on to another tourney. They'll have junk at these low limits more often than not. |

Don't post the results because then it looks like it is a bad beat post. I've never folded KK preflop in a STT, and until you're playing 215's you shouldn't either, and perhaps not even then.
You got in in PF which is what you want to do. |

[ QUOTE ]

Now I can believe him, and give it up, or..." Then Mike pushes all his chips in and Teddy lays it down, frustrated. Awesome scene. Awesome movie. |

[/ QUOTE ] At virtually any left you've got to pay off AA. El Diablo has a post about KK where he suspects he's against AA in a NL 25/50 game. Ray Zee's contribution to that post is eventually if you muck KK and explain your thought process your opponents will try and get you off many more hands if you're willing to muck KK. Long story short, he got stacked to AA and reloaded. Moral of the story don't muck KK. |

What about QQ in the early rounds? If there is resistance should you call and then go from the flop? Or do you try and get all in?

To get me to fold KK preflop you'll have to pry the cards from my cold, dead hands.

Man, this looks familiar. I will restrain myself from posting my own bad beat from the Stars 10+1 last night.
Harrington says to play KK preflop just like you would AA (i.e. never fold it), so that's what I do. |
