Minraisers in a 3way pot. Math question.
BB has 46, SB has 30. I have them both covered with a 127 stack.
Party Poker (6 max, 6 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx Preflop: Hero is Button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. 2 folds</font>. Limpred to me, I make it 3.5 to go. Two calles. Flop: 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)</font> 10 in pot. Checked to me, I bet 8, SB calls, BB minraises, I push Turn: 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)</font> River: 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)</font> Final Pot: I lose to BB's k2s Here is my question. Is BB making a mistake to call the all in on the flop? Is a better line to just call the minraise and push a non heart turn? |

Re: Minraisers in a 3way pot. Math question.
BB has 26 left after his bet, and you can either call to make the pot 50, or raise to give villain a $26 call into a $76 pot.
Villain obviously has odds to call your all-in. If you check and push the turn he will not quite have odds to call though. This is very close to the situation I posed in another thread. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...14&fpart=1 If stacks are much deeper, obviously you bet flop and turn sufficiently the protect against the next card. In this case, stacks are too short for this, but neither are they deep enough for a flop push to give bad odds for villain getting two cards. The outcome is that you should check and push a safe turn card. This has a higher EV than the flop push. |

Although in this hand, the presence of the Sb probably makes a push preferable..
