Default Wynn or Mirage -- Where Should I Play?

In a few months I'll be heading to Vegas on my way back from a convention in California....

Normally I stay at the Mirage and predominantly play there.

With the Wynn open now, will I be wanting to play there more?

I'm trying to figure out where to book my room, and it's solely going to be based on where I will end up playing most of the time.

I play limit far more often than no limit, but it's hard to say what stakes I'll be playing as it could be anything from $6-$12 to $40-$80, depending on how much I'm drinking. Knowing me in Vegas, I'll be doing some of that, so the more I do, the lower the stakes I'll be playing to stay profitable.

So, the question, for you locals (or people who have been out there in the last six months), where do you play more often? Why? Why not?

Any and all help is appreciated!

this question has been debated in quite a few threads recently here...i prefer the mirage still, but i'm a local and i know the rooms at Wynn are freaking amazing...that may be your best bet.

i don't think there's a big difference between the two.

I was there in June. I stayed at the Wynn. I played at the Bellagio. In the future, I will be staying at Bellagio, and it's not close.

Was this due to some negative Wynn-experience? or just because you really dug Bellagio?

I arrived at the Wynn on a Friday evening. The game selection was sparse (I was looking for 15/30). I did get in a game, but it was BAD. The 15 games at the Bellagio were amazingly easy. Also, on Saturday morning around 11am, they didn't even have enough people to get a 15 game going. When I hopped in a cab and went to Bellagio, there were several going. Obviously I have a small sample size, but my limited experience is that the games in the Bellagio are much better. The Wynn rooms and poker room are nice, but I prefer to stay in the hotel where I'll be playing, thus I'll stay at Bellagio. I hope this makes sense.

No, it does, as I prefer to stay in the hotel where I will be playing as well.

Still not sure why I dislike Bellagio - the rooms are great but the poker room I haven't dug yet.

Hence why I always seem to default to the Mirage, as the rooms are at least decent and I do enjoy the poker room there.

I might end up just staying there and poking over to the Wynn a time or two to check it out.

Any other new anecdotes out there that aren't covered in recent threads?

The Wynn kicks ass... stay there over Mirage every day of the week. The Bellagio, as Bob said, just has better selection. But the Wynn room and staff is much, much nicer.

I think half the reason the $15/30's were so bad was that it was usually 40-50% 2+2ers.

I'm in the same camp as PokerBob -- stayed at the Wynn but played the minimum req'd hrs there and played the rest at Bellagio. while I prefer the physical room AND staff AND waitresses at the Wynn, the games at the Bellagio are SO much better that I'll be going back to the Bellagio after my recent stay at the Wynn.

I play 15 & 30 HE and the game selection at the Bellagio is beyond comparison - weak competition (often at least 2 complete fish per table, if not more) and several tables to choose from even at off-peak hours. The staff and drink service leave much to be desired but overall Bellagio is +EV

I dislike the Bellagio room too:

Games: No better than Wynn IMO.

Chairs: God awful and without wheels

Lists: Longer than Wynn, and not computerized. They don't even have boards just clipboards, so you can't track where you are.
