Default Bachelor Party

I am getting married soon and would like to go to atlantic city with my friends who are novices at poker. I would like nothing more than to play some poker while we are there. I see 2 basic problems here.

The first is that my friends are not good poker players and would be playing limits way over their comfort level at AC. Some currently play .5/1 on party but not often and not well. I don't want to take everyone on a trip that costs them a bunch of money.

The second seems like a bigger problem which is that even with a group of people who are comfortable playing poker we will essentially be paying upwards of $100 to play poker with each other with little or no chance of making money off of other players. I can think of a lot of other things that cost $100/hour that would be more fun. Hell we could probably hire a dealer and a stripper for $300.

Should I just suck it up and play Black Jack with everyone at the table or does someone have a better solution?

My buddies rented a hotel suite for my bachelor party and brought in two poker tables. Then they got me hammered and took all of my money. Every cent. They showed no mercy.

But this might be a good solution if you want to play poker but don't necessarily want people to play at stakes higher than they're comfortable with.

(Of course, this may negate the excuse for you to go to AC, unless you're figuring in other activities later in the evening.)

Go to the Trop and let people play whatever they want. Even with no skill I'd be more comfortable playing 2/4 than $10 blackjack. If you just play somewhat normal pre-flop, it will take you a while to blow through $100 at a 2/4 table. I can go through $100 at a $10 bj table in 5 minutes. I suggest the trop because weekend wait times are usually not bad and there is a lot of talent running around the Quarter.

Find a combo dealer-stripper to save yourself some money. Bonus points for having the pots "raked" with her clothing.

You might be able to swing a private game for during the day when it's less crowded.
