Turned flush
NLHE $50max, 25c, 50c blinds, 10 players.
Hero is BB with Jc8s (stack = $50). MP1 open limps (stack = $27), Villain in LMP calls (stack = $35), button calls (stack = $70), SB folds, Hero checks. Flop: Tc8c3c (Pot = $2.25). Hero bets $2, MP folds, Villain calls, button folds. Turn: 5c (Pot = $6.25). What is Hero’s best line? Villain seems like a fairly ordinary, slightly fishy/passive low stakes NLHE player. Will post results if anyone seems interested. |

Re: Turned flush
Bet 4-5 and fold if he raises.

Re: Turned flush
What if he calls and a brick comes on the river? Villan is a bit passive, a call is very much more likely than a raise I think.

Re: Turned flush
Then it all comes to judgement and read, but my default play against an uknown is probably to make a 1/2 pot bet or so and fold to a raise.

Re: Turned flush
i'd lead the turn but if he raises i fold, and if he just calls I check/fold the river....he's a fish, you know he called with the ace/king/queen.

Re: Turned flush - Results
I lead $5 on the turn. Villian called. River was a brick and I check-called $5. I think that was a mistake. I agree that I either should have lead for about 1/2 pot or check-folded the river. At the time I decided to check-call because I thought that no hand I was ahead of would call a bet. If I was right about that (and I think I was) then check-folding seems best because Villian had already called the turn; by my own logic he is most likely ahead.
Villian showed Ac6c. He had me all the way. |
