Default positional stats project

Tell me whether this has been done and whether you think it's pointless.

I simply suggest that we list our VP$P and win rates for each position. (It seems like we often get those mentioned, but not together in one thread.) Only other thing I believe we should mention is what levels those stats are coming from primarily.

Would it be a waste of time to consider these particular stats in isolation? I'm just trying to get a very general sense of how often we win from each position, and see whether it's possible to correlate them at all with VP$P.

Absolutely. One of the most useful posts for me about a year ago was a stats post from a 4BB/100 player over about 60k hands. It really showed me how much value you have in position and I tuned my game pretty heavily as a result.

How many hands do you need for each position to converge?

The same as you need for your overall winrate to converge. It depends on what your bounds for convergence are, but it's a lot.

It's also important, as stated earlier, to filter these stats. There is a huge difference betweein 4-handed and 6-handed play, and people won't have the same rations between 4/5/6 handed, so results will be disproportionately skewed.

I dont think there is much point in posting for me then since I have only 12k hands filtered for 6 players.

i don't think there is a huge difference between 4-6 players since we are already focusing on each position. overall vpip between 4-6 players, sure, huge difference. each position? not so much, although you'll be looser out of the blinds 4 handed than 6.

You will get a lot more chances to open from the CO 4-handed!
