10/20 PP Nuts on the river...help on maximum extraction?
Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed) converter
BB ($4842) Hero ($2257) Preflop: Hero is MP3 with T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $10. 3 folds, MP2 calls $20, Hero calls $20, CO calls $20, 1 fold, SB (poster) completes, BB checks. Turn: ($100) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, BB bets $97, MP2 folds, Hero calls $97, CO folds, SB folds. River: ($294) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players) BB bets $250, Hero?? ----- A few things to consider...Villian is the most LAG player at the table and I JUST stacked him at another table with QQ when he decided to bluff with four high. He is definetely making the table richer. His turn bet was pot size and although an open end straight draw is usually a folding hand on the turn, I felt certain that if I hit my draw, I would be able to extract massive chips from him, hence I called getting 2:1 odds. Given all this information and the nuts on the river, what's your move? Villian is LAG enough that I'm almost certain he will call a raise to $750 because he does not like to fold to raises. However, the question is should I push on the river, hoping Villian will be LAGGY enough to stack me up or should I be content and raise to $750-$900? EDIT: I realize the river action is very read dependent but hopefully this post will generate a lot of responses. |

I like 750. I even consider making it 1K, unchecking automuck, and letting the automuck time out just to tease him. He folds here, hes most likely more tilted. Hopefully one way or another you can get the money, but with him tilted I make it 1K I think.

I like the 750. If he might be on the edge of tilt, it may be small enough where he thinks he can push you off by coming over the top. 750 seems much more 'callable' with TP for him (if that is indeed what he has).
With his around the pot sized bets, he may feel he actually has the best hand, so I would expect you to get paid off here. |

Against a normal opponent, $700.
Against this guy, I still wouldn't go too overboard. |

If he's really that LAG I think a raise to $800 or so is perfect. Small enough to call with a reasonable hand, big enough that he might think you're just trying to buy the pot and he might come over the top, especially with a solid hand he was just slowplaying on the flop.

Re: 10/20 PP Nuts on the river...help on maximum extraction?
just make sure you give him room to come over the top of you
if you dont feel you can do that, move in key here is balancing between being paid off if he has a marginal hand v seeming semiweak is he a calling station or simply over aggro? calling station i tend to bet more obviously. id usually bet less than what most are advocating, but only slightly. |

best feeling in the world when the push gets called :-) [/ QUOTE ] Even better when you bet $650 here and he reraises all-in...You pause for a moment as if to consider the call..Then pray he doesn't have the same hand and take it all down...Glorious. |
