Every time I do this, God punishes me.
Stars 2/4. I raise AK [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] UTG. Guy coldcalls, BB calls.
Flop AKx rainbow. I bet, guy raises, BB folds, I call. Now, I don't do this too often. But the "bluff raise scary flop and fold to a 3-bet" guys are fairly common in the Stars 2/4 game, so I do it every now and again. Turn: J, I checkraise. River: T of course. Just wondering if the flop call/turn c/r combo blows ass as a changeup from 3-betting the flop. |

Re: Every time I do this, God punishes me.
I'm 3-betting this. You have a very strong hand OOP. It's wise to keep leading the action so we can give the opponent every opportunity to hang himself. Yeah it sucks when they fold, but mark it down in your notes and remember to bet/3-bet any Ace hi flop against this guy when you don't hold an Ace.

The flop/turn isn't my default by any stretch, but if the table hasn't been very action-y, sometimes I'll pull it out. I swear I lose every time though. This play is rigged. |
