1. make chocolate chip cookies
2. get him really stoned and talk about cars
3. assure him that she will change her mind after she has a chance to cool off and that they can work things out.

No they didn't.

They went through this a month ago and barely got back together. I know both of them very well.

I tend to wonder. Often times 'for good' that results within 24 hours isn't necessarily true.

That said, I hope things work out for him. Drinking isn't the solution. A movie or tv show is a much better option.

3. the split was mutually agreed upon after she hit him on his already-broken arm. he dosn't want to get back with her, just needs some consoling.

I don't think drinking is a good idea.

I would simply suggesting listening to him if he wants to talk. A lot of people in these situations just want to rant and get it out. Let him do that and don't try to be too critical of him even if he's wrong. Wait to point out where he went wrong until later.

edit: wanted to add that if he doesn't want to talk about it you should watch a movie or something like that, where you aren't just sitting there with the elephant in the room and little to discuss.

Up until recently, the answer would have been SIIHP.
