Bet $600 and get the rest in on a non-club turn.

I bet 800 (~ pot size) and everyone folded. I did not want someone to suck out with another club on the turn, especially with six players going to the flop. The pot was big enough for me to take it down. Is this a good enough line?

Personally, I think 600 is more likely to get a loose call or two on the flop and also will leave you with more ammo for the turn. Also, it might look a little weaker and get someone to make a move on the flop. Betting 800 makes it pretty clear that you are committed and makes it harder for someone to call with a top pair type hand. Also gives you more behind on the turn to price out a club draw. I don't think 800 is bad, but I think 600 is better.

There is nothing wrong with this line, and this reasoning.

I have a bigger problem with the preflop raise with 5 limpers.

and judging by how many went to the flop, your preflop raise did not have very much fold equity. Since, on 90% of flops you have to give up on and the few times you hit it like you did here, you won't get much value from another hand.

you also tend to make a lot of second nuts with 84, if flop comes 567.

hmmmm..agree. I only wanted to steal some blinds. Probably not a good idea with so many limpers. I am not sure If I was going to fire If i did not hit anything on the flop.

I was playing tight till then and just wanted to switch gears. Ofcourse it helps when you get good cards to go with it

you probably shouldn't fire on a missed flop.

There is nothing funnier and more satisfying, in my opinion, than being completely out of line in a hand, getting looked up, and then hitting the miracle to turn a joke hand into a monster.
