Default My first hand post.

I've never posted a hand here before, but I've been wanting to get some feedback on wierd hands that keep coming up.

This particular hand involves your typical generic fish, who are somewhat weak and passive.

Ultimate Bet 0.05/0.10 Hold'em (8 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG+1 Fish1)/ calls, 1 fold, MP2 Fish2)/ calls, 3 folds, Hero checks.

Flop: (3.40 SB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls, Fish1 raises, Fish2 calls, Hero 3-bets, UTG calls, Fish1 calls, Fish2 calls.

Turn: (7.70 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls, Fish1 calls, Fish2 calls.

River: (11.70 BB) 9[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG folds, Fish1 calls, Fish2 calls.

Final Pot: 14.70 BB

Results in white below:
Hero has Td Ks (two pair, tens and nines).
Fish1 has Ah Tc (two pair, tens and nines).
Fish2 has 7s Jc (two pair, nines and sevens).
Outcome: Fish1 wins 14.70 BB.

I'd play it the same.

Thanks

I've been lurking on here forever, but never had much time to post, working 80 hours a week. Plus, I never took poker too seriously. But, I've been trying to refine my game after a longish layoff now.

I admit, I'd be a bit worried about betting out on the turn with the second 9 on the board. What is the reasoning for betting here?

I would have backed down on the river with that second nine hitting. BUT - I'm a little conservative on the river at times

I assume you mean the river. If you don't bet will you call a bet? It costs the same if you lead out, but if you don't bet and it gets checked through you lose at least 1BB and up to 3BB when you are ahead. If you do bet and get raised you can be reasonably sure you're beaten here and fold (costing the same as check/call). Also the second 9 makes it less likely that your opponents actually have a 9 as there are only 2 left in the deck and also puts you ahead of a 2 pair hand like 75/T5.

Sorry, yes I meant the river, of course.

That makes sense...I've never thought of it that way.

So, if I'm going to call a bet on the river, it's better to lead out and fold if re-raised.

I think part of my problem is that I will often call the raise on the river anyway. The logic being that I'm already invested and the pot is probably too big to fold.
