It just is. As for all the foreigners being the kickers, that's just the crappiest position that we keep for the weenie little whimpy guy. No Americans want to do it, so we get a bunch of Euros who'd rather play the worst position in football than play soccer.

It's called football in the US for the same reason that football is called football elsewhere. In England when the game was being played they called it football because it was played on foot. This distinguished the sport from others such as polo that were played on horseback. American football is similarly played on foot and hence carries this name.

[/ QUOTE ] you realize that it is photoshopped or something and its not actually a naked woman fan who did that right? can you imagine if that actually happened how often it would be replayed on sportscenter? i saw a full video of that a while ago and it shows her jumping up in celebration afterwords and the woman they use is SOO hot (read big titties)
