Default Check-raised w/ 2nd pair and seeing a showdown

MP is something like 50/15 but has been playing back at me a lot.

Party Poker 5/10 Hold'em (6 max, 6 handed) converter

Preflop: Hero is CO with Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, MP calls.

Flop: (5.40 SB) A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP checks, Hero bets, MP calls.

Turn: (3.70 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP checks, Hero bets, MP raises, Hero calls.

River: (7.70 BB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players)
MP bets, Hero calls.

Final Pot: 9.70 BB

I realize folding to the turn check-raise would have been a decent play, but I felt like he would have check-raised the flop with an A. Combined with how he had been playing, I decided to call down. Comments?

you would need some pretty compelling reasons to call down here.

What do you guys think about folding the river when those draws come in?

Do you think it's likely that he would wait until the turn to jam his flush draw? Also, nothing about the play indicates a straight draw, but I'm not sure anything would.

I might have folded for both these reasons if I had spent more time thinking about it, and if I wasn't extremely suspiscious of his previous play. I lay this down easily against a solid or uncreative player.

Check the turn and induce a bluff on the river.

agree 100%. you're not gonna cost yourself the pot by giving a free card, any hand that he is drawing live with he is calling the turn with. you will occasionaly miss a bet with a hand he would have called twice with but that should be made up for by all the bluff you pick off on the river that he'd have folded to a turn bet.

when you can see the checkraise coming a mile away, and you dont welcome it, just check it through and call the river.
