Default KK facing aggression pf

Texas Hold'em No Limit EUR 0,25/0,50

SB ($20.35) 17/8 over 23 hands
BB ($60.98) 21/7 over 28 hands
Hero ($50.45)
UTG+2 ($49.95) 23/5 over 223 hands

Preflop: Hero is UTG with K, K.
Hero raises to $2, UTG+2 calls $2, SB raises to $8, BB calls $8, Hero pushes...

After the hand SB argued that I should have just called and waited to see if an ace flopped before pushing. I wanted hands like AK or AQ to have to pay to see the flop and figured if I ran into AA than so be it. Is this the right play or would a smaller raise be more appropriate?

I think it is fine. The pot is already decent enough size to take down. I dont like waiting to see if an ace flops because if it dont flop that might be the end of the action.
