Default 10/20 Flush hand

Did I mention that I hate 50BB stacks? No? Well I do.

Villian is 17/5/2 and only has ~$400 behind after her raise. Assuming she'll be all in then it's effectively $650 for me to call.

What now?

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $20 BB (9 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

CO ($500)
Button ($1597.20)
SB ($973)
BB ($2000)
UTG ($2577)
UTG+1 ($3478.50)
Hero ($3412.50)
MP2 ($2032)
MP3 ($1987.50)

Preflop: Hero is MP1 with 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
2 folds</font>, Hero calls $20, 3 folds</font>, Button calls $20, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: ($80) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (4 players)</font>
SB bets $55</font>, BB folds, Hero calls $55, Button folds.

Turn: ($190) 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)</font>
SB bets $55</font>, Hero raises to $250</font>, SB quickly raises to $500</font>

Thats one goofy bet on the turn. I had prefer to just call and evaluate. I hate paying off nits. I would just convince myself that he flopped a monster and fold.

I would probably fold since the 1/3 pot -&gt; 3-bet usually screams monster to me and in the SB in a limped pot, 55, 56, maybe even J5 are possible.

My only question is, is it standard to open limp 89s in MP in these games?

Hi HEK,

I'm assuming those stats are over more than just a few hands, and that this is a tight, non-aggressive player. In the case where you don't think he's nuts:

That quick reraise is a big hand, and there are only a few that you can beat--the smaller flushes, which are possible in this unraised pot vs. the blind. Fold; you got off easy here. I like your raise fine on the turn.

I don't know, but who cares? Raise pre-flop, HEK (and I think PoBoy is suggesting this as well).

89s is a good drawing hand but it's difficult to play drawig hands OOP. I find that it's often best to take an aggressive stance with them early on to increase the likely hood that you can win UI, and also to mask your hand when you do hit.

I pushed and she called w/5 6. I think this is a fold given here weeeeaaak turn bet which was begging to get raised. The signs were there I think. I have to start making better laydowns.

the flop call of 55$, I'm still sorta new to NL, but arent you only getting 2.45 odds when you need 4.1?
