While he could easily have QT/KTs I think that there are enough hands that he could beat you with, to justify the river fold.

Preflop looks good, continuation bet on flop looks good. I might fire another bullet on the turn to try to represent an ace, especially with the read you have on him (he could call with a draw, a ten, anything). This may also award you a free showdown. But yeah, I like your fold on the river. I don't think 2:1 is even enough to call that down.
