Re: WPT Championship Event hand
Please don't bother commenting on the preflop or flop play. I didn't play this hand. In fact, I don't even know the person who played it.

Does the stacks being very large compared to the blinds make it more or less likely that the button has a set? I think much less. [/ QUOTE ] Can you explain this? |

That said, there's something I want to add to what I said above: If the button is not on a stone bluff (which I think is highly unlikely, given the play of the hand), what hands could he possibly hold? Also, the allin raise doesn't always mean weakness. There are plenty of times when you can read a player for tied to a hand where you can put in a lot more than you normally would. |

[/ QUOTE ] People have huge stack sizes here. Huge. If you are trying to bust someone with a set, you have to try and build the pot on the flop. Also, you are last to act on the flop which is allows you to bet the flop but not necessarily look super strong. |

This hand is pretty much the reason I dont get involved in raised pots in NLH with KQo. Tuco. [/ QUOTE ] Replace the KQ with AK and the Q on the turn with an A ... does it really make a difference? |

I call. Then I kick over the table when he shows a strangely played 66.

Re: WPT Championship Event hand
Why was this strangely played? Yeah I know about slow playing sets etc., but I can certainly see the logic behind the play.
That said, I think that it's a set of 5's or 6's and if he is that geeky "internet player" from TILT I am even more certain that this is the case. If it's a stone cold bluff, you have to tip your cap here. I fold and vomit if he turns over TPTK or somesuch nonsense. |

Re: WPT Championship Event hand
if he doesnt bet his set on that flop with button, then he is dumb.
In this case, you will call the turn, and because he is so dumb, you will river a king |

Re: WPT Championship Event hand
Indeed. How silly of me. Call the turn and bank on an 11-1 shot. I read that good piece of advice somewhere. Oh yeah, just in your post. I'll file that one away.
