Default Make a big call with just the flush draw?

600 NL 8 handed.

One MP limper, I limp in LP with A [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] ($600)

CO ($500ish) makes it 30, BB calls ($850), limper folds & I call.

CO seems solid, BB doesn’t seem great and is LAG.

3 to the flop of 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]5 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

BB checks. I check (comments?)

CO bets 60 and BB pushes.

I am 99% certain BB will not play the flopped boat this way.

Anyway, we both fold. But looking back I’m thinking this may be a call.

Anyone agree?

If there's only one limper and it's folded to you in LP with AJ[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], why not just raise it instead of limping? No, I don't like a call here. It's $600 to you with a flush draw on a paired board. Get your money in at better spots..

There are certainly hands that you beat that he could play this way. I think this could possibly be a call against some opponents, but I would need to know them well, better than you seem to do here. I think what it looks like the most is either flush draw with possible straight draw, or mid pocket pair. Both hands you are favorite over. However, I am not sure this makes up fo the times that he does have trips or full house. It seems fairly unlikely that he would play these hands that way, but some % of the time he will, and those times are real bad. So I think it's a fold, but it's not an obvious one.

Good fold. Pretty easy fold too. If he had trips u were about a 3:1 dog to win the hand. Calling $570 to win $720(about) is not justifed.

two things make this potential call really interesting... if this guy is a typicall small stakes player he will play trips of better like this seldomly... seems like this guy is gonna have 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] VERY often... the problem is the guy behind might overcall (even if you push over) with AA/KK... that would suck.

i'd raise the limper preflop. when it came back to me raised 5xbb i'd fold.

i'd fold the flop too.

If he is a bad player, i could see him doing this with trips, not wanting the the 3rd diamond to hit. I like this line, if on the other hand he is a good player, i call this, as I dont see him doing this with trips, more likely another draw.

note that the quote you selected was strictly talking about preflop.
