Default Public Service Announcement

I suck at SH games. I will be giving updates throughout the evening.

Have a bad run dude? I had one too, day before yesterday. lost about 110 big bets in a 24 hour period. No biggie, it happens. I have watched you play before, and didn't see anything particularly attrocious. Sometimes the junk players and ace-rag fools get lucky against you for more than a hand or two. Shorthanded, the swings are bigger. big deal. If you think your play is to blame, post some hands where you made questionable decisions and let the board judge.

I can't read hands for [censored], I feel this is partially to blame. Any tips?

I go with my gut feeling alot, but I don't normally multitable. I did a search of the shorthanded forum on "hand reading" and it returned a whole slew of stuff, which I'll be digging through for a while...

1/2 six max. I think also i'm WAY too loose, i've been looking at PT and i'm a hair over 30% vpip and 20% pfr. I don't think my postflop skills warrant me being in 1/3 of the pots played.

Default Way too loose

i'm a hair over 30% vpip and 20% pfr.

Still learning myself but I think that is several points too high in both categories.

I have a 24-25% vp$ip and a pf raise % of 14%. Not sure how these stack up, but I am working more on a raise or fold type pf strategy that I talked w Gonores about and so far it seems very solid and aggressive. Only limping with maybe PP, mid suited connectors, and suited aces after a couple of limpers.

stick through it and just analyze your game.

What hands are you playing/raising from some different positions?

This might allow some of the guys to help you out.

BTW I don't think my postflop skills warrant me being in 1/3 of the pots played.

No one's postflop skills are good enough to overcome that many weak hands. Maybe in deep stacked NL, but certainly not in limit.

good luck

But not too much. This delicate balance is one of the most difficult, and most important, skills a developing player must learn.

Bingo. You may have noticed I've been watching today. Tighten up and you'll have smaller swings. 3-betting with those mid pairs is hurting you too, IMO. And raising with A9o, ATo utg is probably costing you money. Just because most of your opponents are too loose, doesn't mean you need to get down there with them.
