Default QQ. When do I release?

Villian is 43/11 after 50 hands. I guess I should have been willing to play for my stack on the flop, but my philosophy of investin 100BB w/ bare queens had a grip over me.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (10 handed) converter

MP1 ($50.95)
MP2 ($72.45)
Hero ($63.85)
CO ($26.70)
Button ($53.65)
SB ($73.13)
BB ($48.50)
UTG ($49.25)
UTG+1 ($32.18)
UTG+2 ($15.40)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. SB posts a blind of $0.25.
<font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, UTG+1 calls $0.50, UTG+2 calls $0.50, <font color="#666666">1 fold</font>, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 raises to $2</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $7</font>, <font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, BB calls $6.50, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP2 calls $5.

Flop: ($22.25) 7[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], T[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(3 players)</font>
BB checks, <font color="#CC3333">MP2 bets $7</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises to $20</font>, BB folds, MP2 calls $13.

Turn: ($62.25) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">MP2 bets $4</font>, Hero calls $4.

River: ($70.25) 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">MP2 bets $10</font>, Hero calls $10.

Final Pot: $90.25

Flame away. Does anyone save $10 on the river?

Fold on the river getting 8:1? I would never make this fold. I think you played this fine, he could easily have JJ (although it's obvious from the tone of your post that you lost.)

I'm not sure what raising the flop accomplishes though.

Those value bets are absurd, but unless Villain has made some very strange moves in the past, I don't think I'm ahead here often enough to even call $10. You could make a case for justifying the call as a fairly cheap means of preventing the table from running you down later, but that's probably not a relevant concern.

Protecting, mostly against BB. If I did any mistake, I think I should have raised the flop more.

JJ has him crushed, if you hadn't noticed.

Board's draw-heavy as hell. Raise gives Villain lousy odds to draw without a monster.

I do agree, though, that if you want to raise you should probably pop it to at least the size of the pot.

I think you froze-up on the turn when the heart showed. Your opponent is at (or pretty close to) maniac territory, so there's no reason to think w/ certainty that he has the flush (he could just as easily have A-10, K-10, or worse). Your raise on the flop pretty much committed you to this pot. His bet on the turn indicated that he might be just as afraid of the flush as you. Do you have any reads that may better explain the weak turn bet by your opponent?

Based on the info provided, I'm pushing on the turn against this opponent.

Hard to fold those odds, but you have to ask: what the hell do you beat here, exactly? I think I could fold it up.

Raise a little more on the flop, I'd say at least full pot. Turn is fine. I think I save $10 on the river here. Unless villian is a complete and utter donk bluffer, there are way too many cards that beat you here.... and I make a fair share of crying calls, but I don't think this is one of them.
Now come into the chat channel so I can flame you for real!
